Banff Gondola — Sulphur Mountain
~2 hours
Begin your Banff day at the top of the world. The Banff Gondola whisks your group to the summit of Sulphur Mountain in minutes, where an elevated boardwalk and open-air observation deck reveal a breathtaking panorama of six distinct mountain ranges. Your driver-guide will point out the peaks by name, share the geological story behind the landscape, and help you find the very best spots for photographs. It's the kind of view that silences a group — and then fills the conversation for the rest of the day.
Bow Falls
~20 minutes
Just steps from Banff Avenue, Bow Falls is one of the most accessible and photogenic waterfalls in the Canadian Rockies. The powerful cascade tumbles through a wide, rocky gorge against a backdrop of pine-forested slopes and the distant outline of the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. Easy to reach and beautiful from every angle, it's a Banff essential.
Surprise Corner
~15 minutes
For over a century, this beloved lookout point has been delighting visitors with one of the most dramatic framings in the Rockies. Rounding the bend to reveal the turreted silhouette of the castle-like Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel rising above the Bow River valley is a moment that genuinely earns its name — prepare to be surprised.
Banff Avenue & Townsite
~2 hours (Free Time)
The heart of Banff is yours to explore at your own pace. Browse boutique shops, step into a locally owned gallery, sit down for a relaxed lunch at one of the Avenue's excellent restaurants, or simply wander the charming mountain-town streets and soak in the atmosphere. Your guide is happy to recommend spots tailored to your interests — just ask.
Lake Minnewanka
~20 minutes
The largest lake in Banff National Park commands attention. Flanked by rugged mountain peaks and fed by glacial waters, Lake Minnewanka has a striking, almost solemn beauty that feels entirely different from the bustle of the townsite. Your guide will share the remarkable story of the submerged ghost town beneath the lake's surface — a fascinating piece of local history that few visitors know.
Two Jack Lake
~15 minutes
A short drive from Lake Minnewanka, Two Jack Lake offers one of the most peaceful and photogenic views in the entire park. With the dramatic wall of Mount Rundle reflected in its calm, clear waters, it is the perfect final photograph — and the perfect farewell to your Banff day before the comfortable return drive to Calgary.
